• Lockbox it. A drawer, a bag in the trunk, an actual phone lockbox — doesn't matter which, as long as it's out of reach and out of sight.
• Say it out loud. “Phones away till we're home” takes one sentence and removes an entire category of distraction.
• Pick something that makes it easy. Some activities make phones physically impractical — hands full, moving too much, water nearby. Lean into those on purpose.

Then Pick Something Where Screens Don't Fit

The best phone-free dates aren't willpower exercises. They're activities where a phone would just be in the way.
