Date Night in Ridgeland MS: A Guide for Every Couple
Apr 27, 2026Ridgeland quietly became one of the best food cities in Mississippi without making a big deal about it. Over 150 restaurants, almost all of them locally owned, most of them run by the same families who've been feeding this community for decades. No big box energy on this list. Just the real thing.
E.A.T.S. Diner
Breakfast all day, specialty burgers, draft beer, and hand-scooped ice cream. Modern diner energy, locally owned by the same family behind the Strawberry Cafe in Madison — the kind of people who take simple food seriously and execute it better than it has any right to be.
Get the Early Bird Burger — a proper burger with a fried egg on top, for those mornings when you didn't quite make it out of bed on time and the day needs a reset. And the Disco Fries. Order the Disco Fries. Don't ask questions, just order them.
This is the spot for the couple that doesn't take themselves too seriously. Which, if you think about it, is the best kind of couple.
Local 463 Urban Kitchen
Award-winning chef Derek Emerson takes Southern comfort food and gives it a big city twist — Florida rock shrimp pizza, fresh lump crabmeat, Mississippi fruit cobbler, crème brûlée. The kind of menu that makes you feel like you've traveled somewhere without leaving the state.
Casual and elegant at the same time, which is harder to pull off than it sounds. Renaissance at Colony Park, Ridgeland.
Caet
Right next door to Local 463 in Renaissance at Colony Park, and a completely different universe.
Phenomenally fresh seafood. Local and regional food paired with wine from around the world. The kind of room where you dress up and mean it too. Caet is the evening anchor for the couple that wants something genuinely special — and the whole thing comes together in a way that doesn't feel like Mississippi is trying to be something it's not. It's just that good.
Ely's Restaurant & Bar
Upstairs above the Old Towne Railroad District, tucked above the noise in a way that feels intentional. Owner Richard Shapley calls it a neighborhood boutique steakhouse — small by design, focused on doing a few things exceptionally well. The beef is aged a minimum of 28 days. The seafood is fresh. The room is warm without being stiff.
And then there's the Pineapple Ely.
Tito's and pineapple, infused for at least ten days, served in a decanter. It looks deceptively simple. It tastes like the bartender knows something you don't. We happen to know someone who stopped in for lunch with a teetotaler date, stepped away to the bar for the tiniest sip while they were in the restroom — and when they came back out, took one look across the room and said what happened here, I've only been gone five minutes.
Order the Pineapple Ely. You've been warned.
Last Stop of the Night
Ridgeland to Pearl is a short drive. Romantic Adventures is at 175 Highway 80 East in Pearl — open Monday through Thursday 10am to 10pm, Friday and Saturday until midnight.
Our workshop on finding the right fit for the right moment is available anytime. And if you want to keep the evening going in a different direction, our guides on adult games for couples and consent and communication are a good place to start.
